Samsung Galaxy XCover 7 arrives in Europe with an affordable price

Samsung is getting ready to launch its next-generation rugged smartphone, Galaxy XCover 7, in Europe, bringing durability at a more affordable price. The device is expected to hit the market with a price tag of 9,000 Czech crowns (about 366 euros) in the Czech Republic, making it much more affordable compared to its predecessor, Galaxy XCover 6 Prowhich debuted at a price of around 450 euros in 2022.

Details of the Galaxy XCover 7 have been revealed through a leak from Czech Samsung retailer Setos, providing insight into the phone's specifications and pricing, reports German WinFuture. According to the same information, Samsung has made certain compromises in the hardware in order to achieve a lower price.

The Galaxy XCover 7 comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2408 x 1080, with a visible notch at the top that houses the 5MP selfie camera. Although it is likely that the choice fell on the LCD panel, the dual rear camera has been replaced with a single 50 MP sensor.

Under the hood, Samsung opts for the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ processor, an octa-core SoC with 5G support. The phone comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory, expandable via a microSD card. Powered by Android 14 and One UI 6, the Galaxy XCover 7 is equipped with a 4,050 mAh battery.

True to its rugged nature, the Galaxy XCover 7 is IP68 and MIL-STD-810H certified, providing protection from extreme outdoor influences and enhanced durability. The phone supports a standard USB-C port for charging and data transfer, as well as a favorite 3.5mm audio jack for fans of . audio equipment.

While the XCover 7 retains a configurable user button, known as the XCover button, for quick access to apps or actions, it seems to be missing the other configurable button that the XCover 6 Pro had, known as the Top button.

While Samsung continues to dominate the premium Android smartphone market, its Galaxy XCover series is aimed at users looking for durable devices for extreme conditions. Although the European launch of the Galaxy XCover 7 is just around the corner, we still don't have an exact retail date.

Given Samsung's usual reticent approach when launching these rugged phones, lovers of them will have to wait patiently and watch if they hit the shelves of mobile phone stores.
