Samsung and Google Cloud introduced generative artificial intelligence in the Galaxy S24 series
Starting with Samsung Galaxy S24 serieswhich was unveiled at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Jose, California, Samsung will be the first Google Cloud partner to deploy Gemini Pro and Imagen 2 on Vertex AI models via the Cloud on its smartphones. Gemini Pro on Vertex AI brings key Google Cloud features to Samsung Galaxy S24 devices
Samsung is the first Google Cloud partner to provide users with Gemini Pro on Vertex AI. Built from the ground up to be multimodal, Gemini can generate and seamlessly understand and combine different types of information, including text, code, photos and video. Starting with Samsung apps, users can take advantage of the compression features in the Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard apps. Gemini Pro on Vertex AI provides Samsung devices with key Google Cloud features, including security, protection, privacy and data compliance.
Galaxy S24 series users can also immediately take advantage of Imagen 2, the most advanced text-to-photo diffusion technology from Google DeepMind to date. With Imagen 2 on Vertex AI, Samsung brings users safe and intuitive photo editing capabilities. These features can be found in Generative Edit in the gallery on the Galaxy S24 smartphone.
As part of this collaboration, Samsung is also one of the first users to test Gemini Ultra, Google’s most powerful and largest model for extremely complex tasks. The S24 series will also use Gemini Nano, the LLM introduced as part of the Android 14 operating system, the most efficient Gemini model for on-device tasks.
