Minisforum presented the first AMD Ryzen 8000 “Hawk Point” APU tablet in the world

Minisforum has confirmed not only that Ryzen tablets are on the way, but that the next generation AMD Ryzen 8000 “Hawk Point” APUs with 22 and 28 W power consumption are also coming.

The new design will be a fully developed Windows 11 tablet with a focus on AI power enabled by AMD Ryzen AI hardware. It should be officially launched in early 2024.

The AMD Hawk Point APU will be part of the Ryzen 8000 family and will represent a slight refresh of the current AMD Ryzen 7040 Phoenix APUs. The new processors will have Zen 4 cores as well as RDNA 3.5 graphics processor keeping the same configurations, writes Wccftech.

Another aspect that will be upgraded is the XDNA engine which will enable better AI capabilities and will help AMD stay competitive with Intel NPUs/VPUs on the upcoming Meteor Lake processors.
