The Redmi Note 13 series will get 3 years of Android updates, but no HyperOS

Xiaomi plans to present Redmi Note 13 series at a global event scheduled for January 4, 2024, but it looks like users will be denied the piece of software they've been hoping for.

Although announced en masse Xiaomi update to HyperOS, which reportedly includes nearly 100 phones and tablets from Xiaomi and Redmi, is scheduled to happen in the first half of 2024. Now suddenly there are rumors that it will drop several devices from its list that were previously supposed to receive the OS update, it states MySmartPrice.

Redmi Note 13 will remain on MIUI 14 for now

An Indian X Network insider claims that “All Redmi Note 13 series phones come with MIUI 14 based on Android 13 both in India and globally. All phones will get 3 years of Android updates (up to Android 16) and 4 years of security updates. These phones won't get Xiaomi HyperOS anytime soon“.

Users expect that some nice things will be presented both in the hardware part and in the functionalities. A 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen is expected, a 200MP main camera on the Pro model, with the Pro+ offering IP68 resistance and a Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset (the Pro will most likely have Snapdragon 7 Gen 2) and a 5,100mAh battery.

Expected European prices are 450 euros for the Pro and 500 euros for the Pro+. Available colors include black, blue and white, with the familiar 12/512GB RAM variant.

The standard Redmi Note 13 5G will use the Dimensity 6080 SoC, while all models have a 16MP front camera. In addition, it should be noted that the Pro and Pro+ versions will have additional rear cameras of 8MP and 2MP.

Battery capacity will vary from 5,000mAh to 5,100mAh with fast charging capabilities, and all devices include an under-display fingerprint sensor and IP68 rating for durability.
