The GeForce RTX 50 will not arrive until the end of next year

Having offered the GeForce RTX 4090D to the Chinese market according to the success formula known only to it, in which it offers fewer CUDA cores, the same price and “almost” identical performance as in the case of the real RTX 4090 model, the “green” alliance has shown what will be the backbone of the strategy for the next year.

It is obvious that the AI division is reaping success, so let the gaming market prepare to suffer, since it is no longer a priority. That's according to the latest rumors, which say that the GeForce RTX 50 series will not appear before the end of 2024.

The expected date for the release of the new generation of GeForce RTX 50 graphics cards is the last quarter of next year, and it seems that the competing company in the gaming graphics card market is guided by similar principles, since it was announced that it will launch several new derivatives of the existing RDNA 3 technology in anticipation of the moment when a new generation is not launched.

Blackwell will not bring as much progress as Ada over Ampere

But let's get back to Nvidia. Their new RTX 50 generation, which will use the Blackwell GPU architecture, will be of a dual nature and will be able to be used both for the creation of AI B100 accelerators and for classic GeForce gaming models.

We can already guess that the latter will be available “by the spoonful” given the current sales priorities. It is enough to mention that the business with data centers currently brings up to 5x more profit than the GeForce gaming division.

The details of the Blackwell architecture are not known, but it is certain that the progress will not be anywhere near what it was in the case of the Ada Lovelace generation compared to the Ampere GeForce models. Together with the fact that the next generation AMD Radeon RDNA4 will not have a flagship model in the offer, Nvidia is definitely much more relaxed when it comes to the release of new gaming graphics card models. Hence, it is quite natural that they are not in a hurry to introduce the new GeForce generation.

GeForce RTX 50 Blackwell arrives in 3nm technology

According to the information available, but still only rumours, the RTX 50 Blackwell generation of graphics processors will be based on TSMC 3nm chip manufacturing technology. The official position is that the performance will be improved by about 15% in case of comparison with existing models of the same number of transistors and level of power consumption.

Nvidia RTX 50 series will include different versions of graphics processors with labels like: GB202, GB203, GB205, GB206, GB207. For the first time, they will be upgraded with the PCIe 5.0 communication standard and will support the Display Port 2.1 version of the connection with screens and monitors.

The new generation of GeForce cards will use an improved version of the notorious power connector, in this case the 12V-2×6 16-pin power supply interface, which will be definitely more stable in operation and safer for your hardware, reports Chinese media.
