Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset introduced, coming to Redmi Note 13 Pro
With Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, the middle class of Qualcomm chipsets also includes Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 and the new 7s chipset, and among the first new phones to appear is the Redmi Note 13 Pro. What makes the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 interesting is the 4 nm manufacturing process and 2.4 GHz core speeds.
The platform uses a Kryo CPU with four high-performance cores at 2.4 GHz and four energy-efficient cores at 1.95 GHz. This architecture should provide good performance for both gaming and juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
The graphics subsystem is taken care of by the currently unnamed Adreno GPU designed for FHD+ visual displays at a refresh rate of 144 Hz. We should expect phones with up to 12 GB of fast 3200 MHz LPDDR5 memory and support for fast UFS 4.0 flash memory, reports Sparrow News.
Of course, there is also a 5G connection that is supported through the chipset, with the Snapdragon X62 5G modem, while the FastConnect 6700 system takes care of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. GPS supports multiple positioning systems, including QZSS, Galileo, BeiDou, NavIC, GLONASS and GPS, with L1/L5 dual-band positioning.
The camera is powered by a 12-bit Qualcomm Spectra ISP with support for simultaneous recording with three cameras and additional features such as 200 MP stills, 4K video recording at 30 fps and AI noise removal.
The chipset also supports the Quick Charge 4+ charging protocol, which means a wide range of fast charging options.
According to the parent company, with these advanced features, the Snapdragon 7s Gen2 mobile platform is designed to provide users with exceptional performance, connectivity and multimedia experiences. While we await the premiere of the Redmi Note 13 Pro with this chipset, it is clear that Qualcomm is one of the main drivers of the mobile industry.
