Galaxy S22 series: OneUI 6 update with Android 14 has begun distribution in Europe
After a long process of waiting that OneUI 6 becomes available for every user on Galaxy S22Samsung is finally releasing a stable version of its latest operating system to every device in that generation line.
Galaxy S23 it was the first generation of devices to receive a stable version of OneUI 6. First, distribution began in several countries around the world with an interesting detour to the United States and Korea, the latter being the base of operations for Samsung. A few days ago, Android 14 has started appearing on phones in those regions, marking the end of distribution for the Galaxy S23 series.
The series that hit the market a generation before it is the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra, of which only the vanilla Galaxy S22 is the only one of these three devices that has already seen partial distribution in some regions last week. Now all three Galaxy S22 series devices are getting the long-awaited upgrade to OneUI 6 in full, starting in Europe, reports SamMobile.
This Android 14 build is starting to roll out in Europe, with some users in the Netherlands reporting that they already have a stable version of the operating system. It is about the firmware version S908BXXUDWK4, the size of which is 3.1GB, which also comes with the security patch for November 2023.
If this launch follows the same path that the S23 took globally, we’ll see the device with OneUI 6 first in Asian and European countries before eventually arriving in the United States and Korea. That timeframe lasted almost a month, so we could see the same process with the Galaxy S22 series. Why that is, we still don’t have an answer.
The Galaxy S22 also did well
Many other devices are still in beta, with the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series still testing OneUI 6 beta. It is unknown when these devices will switch to the stable version, although we assume it will be before Samsung announces the Galaxy S24 series during January of next year.
